San Carlo Restaurant Group in Leeds is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to lead our busy kitchen. You will oversee daily food preparation, cooking and plating, and ensure exceptional quality and presentation. Lead and train kitchen staff, manage scheduling, inductions and performance, and uphold food safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Team management experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised.
• A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and plating.
• Ensure food quality and presentation to customers.
• Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training and scheduling.
• Maintain a positive and engaged team through 1:1 meetings, incentives and recognition.
• Inductions for all new starters in line with company procedure.
• Manage the Sous Chefs to ensure all training is to company standards.
• Ensure all kitchen staff follow food safety and sanitation guidelines and kitchen procedures.
• Manage food inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff and restaurant management to ensure timely food service.
• Handle customer complaints or issues related to food quality or service.
• Treat everyone with respect and remain calm at all times.
