Job summary

SAS Institute in the UK is seeking an experienced pre-sales professional to drive technical engagements for central government and public sector opportunities. You will translate client needs into SAS-based solutions, lead PoCs and demonstrations, and partner with account teams on strategic opportunities.

The role requires UK Security Clearance, extensive pre-sales experience, and strong storytelling and workshop facilitation skills.

Qualifications

• UK Security Clearance in place for work across UK government.
• 3+ years in a similar pre-sales role within technology.
• Broad technical knowledge including enterprise architecture and cloud platforms.
• Passion for AI and its potential to improve safety, health and fairness.
• Hands-on skills with SAS technology, SAS Viya Platform (SAS Studio, VA and VI) or similar.
• Comfort delivering PoCs, pilots and customised demonstrations, especially in fraud and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact between clients and SAS, translating needs into SAS-based value propositions.
• Define and execute the technical strategy with the account executive and engagement team.
• Provide technical and pre-sales leadership for new opportunities with technical and business audiences.
• Define and own the technical engagement plan and lead multidisciplinary teams for opportunities with central government.
• Address complex customer situations using industry standards and our solutions to deliver positive outcomes for customers and SAS.
• Deliver high-quality customer experience and demonstrate value through presentations, demonstrations and proofs of concept.
• Develop a compelling vision using technical knowledge to influence stakeholders and tailor materials for audiences.
• Facilitate workshops, gather requirements and deliver software demonstrations as needed.

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• UK Security Clearance, in place due to current or previous work across UK government
• 3+ years of experience in a similar pre-sales role within the technology industry
• Broad technical knowledge, including enterprise architecture, architecture standards and cloud platforms
• Passion for AI and its potential to make the world safer, healthier and fairer, with experience in areas such as data management, AI, analytics, fraud detection and intelligence
• Practical hands-on skills using SAS technology, including the SAS Viya Platform (SAS Studio, VA and VI), or similar technology
• Comfort delivering proof of concepts, pilots and customised demonstrations, particularly in fraud and investigations
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required and work hands-on in customer-facing situations
• Skills in translating business and technology requirements into compelling solutions
• Clear and engaging storytelling, presentation, writing and demonstration skills for technical and executive audiences
• Workshop facilitation, discovery, requirements gathering and creative problem-solving skills

• Deliver a high-quality, high-impact customer experience and demonstrate our value through presentations, discussions, demonstrations and proofs of concept
