Job summary

Mimecast Services Ltd in London seeks a Senior Solutions Architect for Email & Collaboration Security to shape architectural direction across ECS and the Mimecast platform. You will own problem framing, integration contracts, and architectural governance to enable scalable, secure delivery.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership, applying AI-enabled design, data contracts, and ADRs to drive resilient, cost-conscious solutions across complex, legacy-rich environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering and architecture experience, with at least 3 years in a senior architecture or principal engineering role.
• Active, daily use of AI development tools in a professional setting.
• Familiarity with email security, threat detection, DLP, identity, or data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead from problem space, not solution space, by facilitating workshops to surface constraints.
• Own integration contracts as product artefacts—APIs, event contracts, data schemas.
• Build the architectural context with ADRs, service interaction patterns, and data contracts.
• Govern without blocking by aligning with platform standards and senior reviews.
• Reason about cost and unit economics, modelling spend per outcome.
• Communicate decisions across executive, product, and engineering levels.
