Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect in the UK to design cloud-first solutions and govern delivery across Azure and other platforms. You will collaborate with Senior Architects, engage stakeholders, and produce end-to-end architectural designs while aligning with governance standards.

The role requires strong client-facing skills, experience with ITIL processes, and the ability to manage delivery across matrix teams. SC clearance eligibility is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in a client-facing solution-driven role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Solutions Engineer).
• Ability to work effectively with business and IT stakeholders, internal and partners.
• Experience of systems integration, systems development, and service operation environments.
• Evidence of previous technical design and architectural experience.
• Experience of end-to-end architecture, covering business requirements through to technical deployments and service design.
• Experience of working to tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work within a matrix management organisation.
• Strong governance focus.
• Proven technical design and architectural experience with cloud technologies, specifically Microsoft Azure.

Job description

• Design solution elements across a range of technologies and specialisms
• Architect solutions within public cloud providers such as AWS and Azure
• Apply knowledge of serverless computing, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS
• Work with core Microsoft products including AD, SQL Server, Exchange, M365, Teams, SharePoint, SCCM, WSUS, and MDT
• Work with Senior Architects to identify core and project-specific delivery resources
• Assure and, where applicable, produce low-level designs and end-to-end cloud architecture solutions
• Manage and update platform roadmaps, patterns, and standards within the architecture practice
• Undertake digital transformation discovery exercises for small and medium organisations, producing impact assessments and recommendations
• Ensure architectural governance over cloud platform solution delivery
• Engage IT and business representatives to enable architectural change
• Consult with other architecture team members
• Interface with third-party product and service suppliers
• Act as an escalation point for technical and architectural issues

Requirements

• Experience in a similar client-facing solution-driven role, such as Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Solutions Engineer
