Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking an experienced employment solicitor in Belfast to support growth in the practice. The role combines hybrid work with in-person collaboration with clients and colleagues. You will advise employers across contentious and non-contentious matters, manage disputes, and contribute to business development.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of PQE in employment law, strong commercial judgment, and excellent communication skills, with Northern Ireland experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 5–8 years' post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Ability to manage matters independently and advise on sensitive issues.
• Strong technical knowledge, commercial judgement, and communication skills.
• Northern Ireland employment law experience is highly relevant; UK/Eire exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise employers on complex employment and employee relations matters.
• Manage tribunal litigation including discrimination, unfair dismissal and whistleblowing.
• Advise on disciplinary and grievance processes, investigations, restructurings, TUPE transfers.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies and settlement agreements.
• Deliver client training and support colleagues in business development.

• Able to manage matters independently and advise employers on sensitive, complex issues.
• Brings strong technical knowledge, commercial judgement and excellent communication skills.
• Northern Ireland employment law experience is particularly relevant; experience or qualification in England and Wales or the Republic of Ireland would be an advantage.
