Job summary

Powercor is seeking a Senior Solar Solutions Manager to join its Solar and Battery Storage division in Weybridge. You will own projects from initial survey through to commissioning, coordinating engineers, subcontractors and suppliers across London and the Southeast, while ensuring safety, profitability and compliance.

Based in Weybridge, you’ll work beside the Technical Director, driving delivery, customer satisfaction and growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in solar stringing and system design.
• Experience across Solar PV, battery storage and electrical installations.
• Full electrical qualifications, including ECS Gold Card or equivalent.
• Solar PV and EESS qualifications (City & Guilds, BPEC, LCL or EAL).
• Experience using SolarEdge, PVSol or Reonic design platforms.
• Experience managing projects through a CRM system.
• Understanding of MCS processes and compliance.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Director with the day-to-day running of the Solar and Battery Storage division.
• Coordinate projects from initial enquiry and site survey through design, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Review surveys, system designs, quotations and project requirements.
• Organise engineers, subcontractors, materials, equipment and site access.
• Monitor project programmes, costs and margins to keep delivery on track.
• Manage DNO applications, commissioning information and handover documentation.
• Ensure installations meet MCS requirements, BS 7671 and company standards.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, suppliers and installation teams.
• Attend site meetings, inspect progress and resolve issues promptly.
• Help develop processes, people and capabilities of a growing division.

MNRecruit is working with Powercor, an established, multi-award-winning business in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sector, to find a Senior Solar Solutions Manager to join its growing Solar and Battery Storage division.

Based in Weybridge, you'll work directly alongside the Technical Director, helping to deliver projects across London and the Southeast while playing a key role in the continued growth of the division.

This isn't a job where you'll simply be pushing spreadsheets around. You'll be coordinating engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and customers, making sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

Powercor needs someone who understands the technical side of solar, can keep multiple projects moving and is confident taking responsibility when things don't go to plan.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Technical Director with the day-to-day running of the Solar and Battery Storage division.
• Coordinating projects from initial enquiry and site survey through design, installation, commissioning and handover.

• Helping develop the processes, people and capabilities of a growing renewable energy division.

What we’re looking for

You'll ideally have a background in electrical contracting, with solid experience in Solar PV, battery storage or electrical project delivery.

More importantly, you'll be someone who understands what it takes to get installations delivered properly, from the technical detail through to customer satisfaction and commercial performance.

We're particularly interested in people who have:

• 5+ years' experience in solar stringing and system design.
• Experience across Solar PV, battery storage and electrical installations.
• A strong electrical contracting background and full electrical qualifications, including an ECS Gold Card or equivalent.
• Solar PV and EESS qualifications, such as City & Guilds, BPEC, LCL or EAL.
• Experience using SolarEdge, PV*Sol or Reonic design platforms.
• Experience managing projects through a CRM system.
• An understanding of MCS processes and compliance.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Commercial awareness, including project costs, margins and profitability.
• The confidence to make decisions, take ownership and communicate effectively with customers, engineers and suppliers.
• A customer-first attitude, excellent attention to detail and a calm approach under pressure.
• A full UK driving licence.

You won't necessarily tick every box, but a strong combination of solar technical knowledge, electrical experience and project delivery skills is essential.
