Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join a defence/maritime engineering team in Dorset. This permanent, hybrid role focuses on delivering software test activities across the SDLC for high-integrity systems.

You will develop manual, automated and regression tests, produce plans and reports, and collaborate with software, systems, hardware and integration engineers to ensure traceability and quality in safety-critical software.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Planning, managing and delivering software test activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Developing robust manual, automated and regression testing solutions.
• Producing test plans, test specifications, procedures and supporting documentation.
• Performing software verification and validation activities.
• Supporting software and systems integration testing.
• Ensuring traceability between requirements, testing and results.
• Identifying, investigating and documenting software defects.
• Working with software, systems, hardware and integration engineering teams.
• Testing high-integrity and safety-related software.
• Producing clear technical reports and communicating results to stakeholders.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
