Job summary

First Up is seeking a Remote Senior Software Engineer to design and implement integrations with enterprise HRIS platforms and build scalable public APIs. You will own production health and contribute to on-call rotations in a “you build it, you run it” environment.

You will work across frontend (React.js) and backend (Node.js/TypeScript) stacks, with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Datadog for observability, targeting UK and international customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in enterprise SaaS, especially HR Tech or regulated domains.
• Strong full‑stack experience across frontend, backend, and database layers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain shared platform services used across the engineering organisation.
• Design future-ready solutions using microservices and cloud-native patterns.
• Deliver scalable solutions with attention to architecture, scale, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Design, build, and maintain public APIs and Agentic tools for enterprise integrations with Firstup platform.
• Own production health for services, participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews.
