Job summary

Opencast is seeking a Senior Software Developer who values craft and clean design. You’ll pair with teams, apply TDD, and deliver robust digital services in line with GDS standards. You’ll travel for client work across the UK and contribute to learning and development within a collaborative consultancy.

Qualifications

• Lead the design and delivery of high‑quality, user‑centred services using Java or Scala.
• Design and build scalable, maintainable systems with focus on performance, security and accessibility.
• Embed strong testing practices to ensure quality throughout delivery.
• Bring recent government (public sector) experience.
• Deliver complex digital services aligned to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
• Explore and adopt new technologies and help teams learn and improve.
• Work within agile teams to deliver value early and often.
