Job summary

Harvey Nash in Newcastle is seeking Senior/Lead Software Engineers to tackle genuinely complex software challenges, work directly with clients, and influence delivery on fintech and public sector projects. The role focuses on Java development, AI applications, and mentoring teammates in small, collaborative squads.

You'll build high-quality software across the full development lifecycle, solve intricate problems, collaborate with engineers, testers, designers and stakeholders, and take ownership

Looking for a role where you can solve genuinely complex software challenges, work directly with clients, and have a real impact on delivery?

We're representing a highly respected technology consultancy working with some of the UK's largest fintech organisations and government departments. You'll work in small, collaborative teams delivering bespoke software solutions while helping shape technical direction and mentoring others.

They're hiring at both Senior and Lead Software Engineer level, with a strong focus on Java. They're particularly interested in engineers who are either already working with AI technologies or have a genuine interest in applying AI within software engineering.

What you'll be doing:

• Building high-quality software across the full development lifecycle
