MCS Group is working exclusively with a high-growth technology organisation as they establish a new engineering presence in Northern Ireland. We're looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers who enjoy building software, solving interesting technical problems and using modern AI tools to improve how they work.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Software Engineer, ideally operating at Senior level.
• Proven track record of building and delivering software in production environments (Java would be a distinct advantage).
• Solid backend development experience with exposure to modern frontend technologies beneficial.
• Good understanding of software design, architecture and engineering best practices.
• Independent worker but collaborative with other engineers.
• Experience using AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code or GitHub Copilot as part of your engineering workflow.
• Genuine interest in how AI is changing software development and a willingness to explore new approaches.
• Up to £85,000.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver scalable, production-ready software.
• Work across existing enterprise platforms and new product development.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs and frontend applications where required.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and engineering decisions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with other experienced engineers to solve technical challenges and deliver new features.
• Take ownership of your work from initial development through to production.
