Job summary

Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe's R&D Lab in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 2 to contribute to delivering products and lead projects end-to-end. You will mentor peers, set engineering standards, and may step into line management as the team grows.

Work with ML Engineers, Product Managers and partners to build robust software using our stack: React, Typescript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and AWS. Strong DevOps and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial software experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related STEM.
• Strong experience in at least 2 core components: Python, Typescript, Relational databases, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, AWS.
• Strong DevOps skills: CI/CD, Version control, containerisation and cloud deployment.
• Ability to produce clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Excellent communication for a remote-first, iterative agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development, testing and maintenance of Lab projects and initiatives.
• Deliver robust software and infrastructure using the core stack: React, Typescript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers, ML Scientists and Product Managers to understand requirements and priorities.
• Mentor engineers, participate in code reviews and promote best practices.
• Troubleshoot technical, data and integration issues during development and deployment.
• Lead a team as Technical Lead when needed and support line management duties.
