Job summary

Wise is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II for Cash Management to help shape the global payments network. You will design and build scalable microservices in Java/Spring Boot, ensure reliability, and collaborate across Product, Solutions Engineering and Business Development.

You will model complex financial domains with Domain-Driven Design, work with Kafka and PostgreSQL, and mentor engineers while raising engineering standards across teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend experience with Java and Spring Boot in production.
• Experience architecting large-scale microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka) is a plus.
• Ability to mentor engineers and raise technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable Java/Spring Boot services within a microservices framework.
• Apply domain-driven design to model complex financial domains.
• Drive event-driven architectures using Kafka and ensure reliability.
• Architect and optimize PostgreSQL-based data models and queries.
• Collaborate with Product, Solutions Engineering, and Business Development.
• Provide technical leadership and set engineering standards across teams.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
