Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to analyse, design and engineer innovative software solutions across multiple projects. You will provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business.

The role combines onsite work at the McLaren Technology Centre with a flexible remote element, and occasional out-of-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full-stack software development using C#/.NET and Python/TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and SOLID principles.
• Experience delivering maintainable, scalable software in Agile environments.
• Ability to analyse complex problems and make sound engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the team's technical roadmap and long-term planning.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle from analysis to deployment and support.
• Take ownership of technical projects, delivering high-quality solutions on time and budget.
• Capture and translate business requirements into robust architectures.
• Collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and business users across McLaren Racing.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other engineers.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks while driving continuous improvement.
• Produce reliable effort estimates and report progress to stakeholders.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, standards, and development methodologies.
• Share knowledge across the wider team and keep pace with emerging technologies.
