GCHQ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Cheltenham/Manchester who will drive architecture and design of mission-critical systems, delivering high-quality software and promoting best practices across teams.

You will work with C++, Golang, Python, Rust and cloud platforms AWS/Azure/GCP, contributing to DevOps, observability and modern engineering practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Senior Software Engineer with experience in C++, Golang, Python, Rust on mission-critical systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure and GCP and Agile project teams.
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, DevOps and observability.
• Experience with Linux and containerisation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and design of new and existing systems, promote best practices, and deliver high-quality software.
• Lead and mentor teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive adoption of modern engineering approaches.
