Job summary

Velociti Solutions in Oldham is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers, setting technical direction and ensuring delivery against timescales. The role balances hands-on architectural guidance with people management, promoting secure, scalable software and AI-assisted development practices.

You will work in a hybrid pattern (minimum two days in the office), 37.5 hours/week, with core hours 9:30am–4:00pm, reporting to the CTO.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a team of developers with 1:1s and objective setting.
• Extensive full-stack skills: front-end (JS Frameworks) and back-end (.NET).
• Experience delivering low-latency, API-driven web services and responsive web applications.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical direction and architecture, ensuring well-reasoned decisions.
• Line-manage a team of ~7 software engineers with regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Uphold coding standards and ensure secure, maintainable software.
• Escalation point for production incidents and root-cause analysis.
