Job summary

Velociti Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, deploy and maintain software solutions that meet business needs. This hands-on role will deliver high-quality, scalable software across the full stack and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture and design, and help embed AI-assisted development practices. The position is hybrid, with two days in the office at Oldham/Sheffield offices in the UK.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial software engineering experience at a senior level.
• Extensive full-stack development across front-end and back-end.
• Experience delivering low-latency API-driven services.
• Relational DB design and development ( SQL Server ) and Azure cloud experience.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and debug full-stack software from requirements to release.
• Ensure delivery quality, security and maintainability across the lifecycle.
• Provide engineering design, development and system integration expertise.
• Contribute to estimation, sprint planning and project SLAs.
• Support release processes and retrospectives for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and trade-offs with clear reasoning.
• Review code and enforce coding standards and best practices.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in best practices.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, security and regulatory standards.
• Share knowledge through reviews and learning sessions.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
