Job summary

Royal London is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join one of our application delivery teams within the Digital space. The role focuses on Azure-based development using Angular and C#/.NET, delivering customer-facing and internal services while mentoring engineers and upholding engineering standards.

You will work in a cross-functional squad, balancing design, delivery and operability, and contribute to the continuous improvement of software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong background in full stack web apps across frontend and backend.
• Expertise with Angular or C#/.NET in Azure.
• Experience delivering secure, scalable, resilient services.
• Mentor and develop engineers within squads.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and operate Angular front-end and C#/.NET back-end services deployed in Azure.
• Contribute to technical design and impact assessments for changes to new and existing applications.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation to required standards.
• Apply engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing and observability.
• Work with Architects, Testers, Product Owners and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Support day-to-day operation of live applications, investigating and resolving incidents.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain standards.
• Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software engineering practices.
