Job summary

DWP Digital is hiring Senior Software Engineers to shape the future of digital services for the UK government. You'll work in multidisciplinary teams to design, build and deliver secure, scalable cloud-based platforms using AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD.

You will mentor engineers, drive engineering excellence and embed security, performance and accessibility into architectures. The role offers hybrid working across hubs in Blackpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing scalable, secure technology solutions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary agile teams.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures (AWS) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers across teams.
• Design, build and support secure, scalable cloud services used at scale.
• Shape technical direction and architectural decisions within DWP Digital.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, researchers and testers to deliver outcomes.
