Job summary

Ebury Group in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and maintain the AML platform with real-time sanctions screening and transaction monitoring. You will design scalable, high-availability services in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate across teams, contribute to RFC-driven architecture, and mentor colleagues while owning features from discovery to production.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing complex software systems for high-volume, low-latency environments.
• Proficiency with Python and strong OOP fundamentals.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka.
• Code should be testable and well-covered with unit/integration tests; familiar with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins/GHA) and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to AML platform services with high reliability and scalability for real-time sanctions screening and transaction monitoring.
• Design and develop event-driven services using Kafka/SNS/SQS; follow RFC processes.
• Coach and mentor teammates; serve as technical escalation for compliance issues.
• Lead initiatives from discovery to delivery with product and compliance teams.
• Own the products you build and maintain them in a regulated, high-availability environment.
