Job summary

Ideal candidates have strong experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and DevOps, and can work autonomously within a collaborative, global team of engineers. This role emphasizes scalable code search and API design.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in Software Engineering with production software delivery in multiple languages.
• OR an advanced degree with multiple years of related production software experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud infra and security is a plus.
• Preference for experience in systems programming and information retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Own and ensure health and quality of the systems, including on-call rotations.
• Collect, classify and analyze data on system health and bugs occurrences.
• Refine products through data analytics and informed engineering decisions.
• Automate production and deployment processes for the product.
• Run code in non-production environments to validate functionality.
• Improve development velocity and tooling through collaboration and modeling.
• Ensure security, privacy, safety, and accessibility across products.
• Provide evidence via logs and reports to demonstrate compliance.
• Prioritize work using service health indicators and stakeholder input.
• Write architecture briefs, run experiments, and prototype scalable solutions.
• Design and implement APIs for seamless component integration.
• Use CI/CD to setup automated pipelines for CI/CD.
• Write maintainable code and own the systems you build.
• Develop, test and ship high-quality, scalable solutions across GitHub services.
