Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in the Corporate and Investment Bank Payments Technology – Account Services is seeking a Software Engineer III to address complex business challenges by developing robust software solutions and ensuring reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems.

You will work with development teams, automate deployment and monitoring, and contribute to a culture of learning, diversity, and inclusion while delivering scalable services for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
• Hands-on cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of agile practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java/Spring Boot, .NET).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and work independently or in teams.
• Proactive in identifying and overcoming obstacles, with a passion for learning and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust software solutions, applying creative problem-solving to optimize system reliability and performance.
• Develop and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations to reduce manual intervention.
• Monitor system performance, proactively address potential issues, and troubleshoot complex production incidents.
• Implements infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms.
• Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
• Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Utilize service level indicators and objectives to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact customers.
• Document processes, share knowledge, and contribute to communities of practice and emerging technologies.
• Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
