Job summary

The University of Cambridge is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a hybrid development team within Information Services. You will build secure, scalable web systems and cloud-native services, focusing on APIs, testing, and CI.

You will design and implement maintainable architectures, integrate applications via APIs and event-driven tasks, and drive improvements in automation with GitLab CI/CD on Google Cloud using Docker containers. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in modern software development, testing, security, and operations.
• Expert in architecting secure web applications and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Python and Django, with working knowledge of TypeScript and React.
• Packaging web applications in Docker containers and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with API integration, cloud deployments, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities
