Sky is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the UK Tech team. You will design, build, and evolve software platforms and data products enabling analytics, automation, and AI-driven decisions across Sky’s networks.

You will work with data scientists, network experts, and product stakeholders to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will be an experienced software engineer with Python expertise, strong API design skills, Docker/Kubernetes experience, and a passion for

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience in commercial projects.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django in production systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerized deployment patterns.
• CI/CD practices and Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software platforms, APIs, and analytical applications.
• Build cloud-native services for analytics, optimisation, forecasting, and AI workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to translate requirements into robust software solutions.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python with modern frameworks.
• Containerise applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable testing and deployment.
• Develop reusable platform components to boost developer productivity.
• Contribute to data product development including ingestion, transformation, and deployment.
• Ensure security, reliability, scalability, and performance of solutions.
• Support observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Participate in architecture design reviews and engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and foster engineering culture.
