Job summary

Sky UK Limited is hiring for an engineering leader to deliver an AI-powered diagnostics platform that analyzes large-scale telemetry and provides actionable recommendations. You will build scalable backend services, data-processing pipelines, and AI-driven workflows across devices, accounts and releases.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance and cost efficiency, while prioritising observability and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in Software/Backend/Platform Engineering or Distributed Systems.
• Proven experience designing scalable backend services, APIs, and data-processing solutions.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Java, Scala, Go, C, or C++.
• Experience with large-scale telemetry, logs, events, and operational data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance an AI-powered device diagnostics platform.
• Build scalable backend services and data-processing pipelines.
• Develop AI/LLM-powered diagnostic workflows using telemetry and events.
• Create data correlation across devices, accounts, networks, and releases.
• Optimize AI workflows for accuracy, latency and cost.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data Science, QA and Operations.
• Design for scalability, reliability, observability and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across services and data pipelines.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews and mentoring.
