Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a team building backend APIs for cloud-based applications. You'll develop microservices in C# and ASP.NET Core that manage data and algorithms for machining, including CAM functionality moved to the cloud.

You'll own the full software development lifecycle, perform design, implementation, testing and validation, participate in code reviews, and contribute to automated deployments and delivery pipelines in

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Experience taking software through full SDLC, not just coding.
• Understanding of how microservices communicate (synchronous & asynchronous).
• Strong focus on software quality, including automated testing and code review.
• Ability to collaborate in a distributed team.

Summary

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team building backend APIs for cloud-based applications. You'll work on microservice backends that manage data and algorithms for machining, including bringing CAM functionality from desktop applications into the cloud. Most of the work is new development. Some work involves adapting existing algorithms for cloud software, whether that means rewriting them or building the services around them. You'll take responsibility for the full software-development lifecycle: understanding the problem, shaping the solution, implementing it, validating it and maintaining its quality.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team.

Helpful Experience

• Cloud, web-development or microservices experience.
• Experience with continuous delivery and automated deployments.
• A degree, ideally in a STEM subject, is useful but not essential.

You'll join an international development team of six software engineers and a product owner, based across the UK, Germany, Romania and China. The team collaborates across European time zones. The work helps customers make physical products. You'll be able to see the real-world outcome of software that supports the parts they produce.
