Job summary

Royal London is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join an application delivery team in the Digital space. The role emphasizes Azure-based development using Angular and C#/.NET, and you will mentor other engineers while leading design and delivery in a cross-functional squad.

You will design, build and operate customer-facing and internal services, ensuring high quality, security and resilience.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering web apps with Angular or C#/.NET.
• Strong experience in Azure cloud, with focus on design, resilience and security.
• Experience with API-driven architecture and microservices.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test and deploy.
• Ability to mentor engineers and support team growth.
• Strong decision making within an established architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and operate Angular front-end and C#/.NET back-end services in Azure.
• Contribute to technical design and impact assessments for changes to apps.
• Produce and maintain documentation to standards.
• Apply engineering best practices, including clean code, testing and observability.
• Collaborate with architects, testers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Support live applications with incident investigation and resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions to uphold standards.
• Mentor other engineers and foster a collaborative culture.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software engineering practices.
