Job summary

AVEVA Group is seeking a software engineer to work on secure, scalable AI-enabled cloud services and public APIs in a hybrid Cambridge setting.

You'll contribute to AI model deployment, tooling, and data pipelines while collaborating across global R&D teams and ensuring robust security across services.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience, ideally in platform or cloud-native service development.
• Strong expertise in RESTful API design, versioning, testing, and lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in API security, authentication/authorization, and data privacy practices.
• Hands-on experience with scalable cloud-native services using PaaS, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI orchestration, and agentic frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple teams to create AI solutions, including model deployment, training and tooling development.
• Build scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure with high performance and reliability.
• Develop secure, well-documented public APIs and SDKs for internal and external developers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data pipelines, orchestration, and service APIs.
• Embed robust security controls to protect data and secure access to AI services.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions to ensure engineering excellence.
• Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of learning and innovation.

Salary: £45,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in software engineering, preferably in platform or cloud-native service development, ideally using Microsoft and .NET technologies.
• Strong expertise in RESTful API design, versioning, testing, and lifecycle management.
• Proficient in securing APIs, managing authentication and authorization, and data privacy practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical challenges and propose scalable solutions.
• Hands‑on experience architecting and deploying scalable cloud‑native services using PaaS, Docker, and Kubernetes to manage complex, containerized AI workloads.
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI orchestration, and agentic frameworks.
• Experience with tools for automated testing and evaluation of AI outputs.
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating across global R&D locations.
