Job summary

Aveva Group in Cambridge is seeking a technically minded leader to design and deliver cloud platform capabilities using Microsoft Azure. You will guide architecture for microservices, REST APIs, data design, CI/CD and IaC, and provide technical leadership across teams.

The role requires hands-on design and coding skills with Azure, Kubernetes, Angular, C#, DevOps, and AI-assisted coding tools. You will collaborate with directors and product teams to align technical direction with business

Qualifications

  • Experience designing and delivering complex enterprise or cloud platform solutions.
  • Technical leadership experience, including guiding teams, shaping architecture, or influencing engineering direction.
  • Strong design and coding skills, with a reputation for delivering high-quality technical outcomes.
  • Experience developing microservice or service-oriented architectures and designing REST APIs.
  • Experience with C#/.NET or multiple programming languages, plus a strong understanding of database design, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or cloud-native application platforms.
  • Experience with Angular or equivalent web development frameworks.
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
  • Strong communication, ownership, adaptability, and curiosity, with the ability to motivate others and lead through technical influence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for the design and implementation of our cloud platform capabilities using Microsoft Azure
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of secure, resilient cloud platform capabilities for our CONNECT Core Services
  • Guide architecture and engineering decisions across microservices, REST APIs, data design, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
  • Support development teams with complex problem-solving, design reviews, and delivery quality
  • Promote cloud technologies, modern engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools across our organization
  • Collaborate with directors, architects, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to align technical direction with platform and business priorities

Job description

Salary: £45,000 - 85,000 per year
