Job summary

Bezos is seeking a senior software engineer in Manchester to own core services end-to-end, mentor peers and shape architectural decisions. The role emphasizes AI-native development and delivering scalable backend systems within a fast-moving, remote-first team.

You will work with Go, AWS, RESTful APIs, and modern dev tools to deliver production-grade code and guide the team toward robust, observable architectures while mentoring others and driving impactful engineering choices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a senior software engineering role
• Strong backend fundamentals and deep Go experience or equivalent
• Extensive experience with AWS, event-driven architecture and serverless infra
• Fluent designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices and serverless architectures
• AI-native approach using AI-powered dev tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
• Pragmatic builder who ships scalable solutions
• Product-minded mindset focused on real user problems

Responsibilities

• Own core services end-to-end from design to deployment
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing
• Shape technical decisions and engineering workflow with AI
• Build high-quality, scalable backend systems and APIs
