Job summary

Elasticsearch B.V. seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Integrations Team to build how Elastic appears inside the AI ecosystem. You’ll own backend services, develop the MCP server, and create universal agent skills with tooling and linting.

You will work across product and external partners, contributing to Go and Rust codebases, APIs, and developer experiences, while thriving in a fast-changing, distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience on backend systems, services or libraries.
• Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and understanding of LLMs, agents and MCP protocol.
• Significant Go experience; other languages are a plus.
• Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP and RESTful APIs.
• Comfort with unfamiliar languages and reading existing codebases.
• Strong software engineering practices and usability focus.
• Product thinking and an interest in the broader ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and related infrastructure in Go.
• Develop the universal agent skills platform: portable format, tooling, and linting for cross‑team shipability.
• Help define correctness through evaluation and tests for shipped skills and tools.
• Design integrations to make Elastic accessible in third‑party AI ecosystems with product and partner collaboration.
• Contribute to the Elastic CLI to improve developer efficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations around the Elastic Stack in Go and Rust.
• Bring product thinking and strong opinions on what to build and why.
