Job summary

Helsing is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to anchor architecture and ship code across backend systems. You will own projects from prototyping to deployment on embedded hardware, designing robust, high-performance distributed systems with Rust and Python.

You will mentor teams, drive RFCs, and collaborate with product managers and customers to translate complex designs into actionable plans. The role emphasizes building scalable, secure, and observable infrastructure with a focus on

Qualifications

• Proven track record writing scalable, maintainable systems code.
• Strong systems thinking, long-term design for complex, multi-system setups.
• Excellent English communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in asynchronous collaboration and pair programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead reviews of code contributions, RFCs, and proposals.
• Architect and implement major features across the stack.
• Translate technical designs for product teams and customers.
