Job summary

FIS Management Services seeks a Senior Banking Platform Engineer to own and evolve an AI-enabled, enterprise banking platform for Tier-1 institutions. You will design, build and operate Core Banking, workflows, and compliance at scale, guiding architectural trade-offs with strong engineering judgment.

You will lead production ownership, on-call readiness, observability, and modern delivery practices, mentoring a senior team shaping critical systems.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing and building complex distributed systems at scale using a strongly typed, compiled language.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, consistency, invariants, idempotency, failure modes, and distributed-system trade-offs.
• Substantial production experience with on-call and incident response across application, data, and infrastructure boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve banking platform capabilities from products and accounts to transactions, transfers, journals, balances, and interest; ensure durable workflows and compliance controls.
• Define reliable APIs, events, and data contracts that connect these capabilities into a coherent, auditable banking platform.
• Own services throughout their lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
• Establish observability, alerting, operational controls, and recovery procedures; improve reliability and production maturity.
