Job summary

Lorien in Liverpool is seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing product and technology team in a hybrid role. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, building cloud-first solutions and contributing to design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

You will operate in a modern Azure environment, influence technical decisions, improve development processes, and deliver scalable, reliable software while collaborating with Product, QA, and Engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• Experience building or supporting RESTful services and event-driven systems.
• Good understanding of modern software engineering principles, including SOLID and Agile development practices.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD delivery.

Responsibilities

• Developing clean, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions.
• Working closely with Product Owners, Testers, and Engineers to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to delivery planning.
• Writing unit and contract tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Supporting and enhancing existing applications, including troubleshooting issues when required.
• Developing infrastructure-as-code and contributing to CI/CD practices.
• Helping improve engineering processes, tools, and ways of working.
• Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation.

Software Engineer - Liverpool (Hybrid)

The Role

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join a growing product and technology team, helping build and enhance modern software solutions within a cloud-first environment. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with Product, QA, and fellow Engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that provide real value to customers. You'll be involved from design and development through to testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
