Job summary

Hexwired Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the United Kingdom to own and deliver robust C++ software across the full development life cycle.

You will design, implement, test, and maintain software for new products and support existing systems while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and customers. The role requires strong C++, Visual Studio, and good English communication, with an emphasis on software quality and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of C++.
• Experience guiding projects through the software development life cycle.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal.
• Expertise with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022/2026.
• UI/UX design experience is desirable.
• Scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce software for new, innovative and profitable products.
• Support and enhance existing software in line with commercial requirements.
• Be responsible for specification, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of software.
• Undertake additional project tasks as required by management.
• Provide support and advice to less experienced colleagues.
• Act as a role model for junior staff.
• Serve as a technical liaison within our organisation, and with customers and suppliers on software matters.
• Carry out any other tasks associated with this role.

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year
