Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead the design and development of scalable software systems in a remote-first fintech environment. You will shape technical vision and architecture while collaborating with engineers and product managers from around the world, including Randburg, Gauteng, from your home office.

The role focuses on setting standards, mentoring teams, selecting technologies, and ensuring security and performance across platforms in a fully remote context.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 9+ years of software experience with 4+ years in architecture.
• Proven record designing large-scale systems.
• Strong grasp of design principles and data structures.
• Exposure to multiple languages and cloud/microservices.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a software architecture role.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, large-scale software systems.
• Deep understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, and data structures.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Go) and associated frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams effectively.
• Experience working in a fully remote team environment is essential.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
