Job summary

Southwark Council is hiring a Senior Social Worker for the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in London. You will screen referrals, assess risk, and coordinate safeguarding for children and families within a collaborative, multi‑agency environment.

The role emphasises high‑quality assessment, case presentation at meetings, and providing guidance to families and professionals. A commitment to improving outcomes and tackling inequality is integral.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification, current Social Work England registration, and experience working directly with children and families.
• UK MASH team experience is essential.
• ASYE completion is required or expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage a balanced caseload and undertake high‑quality screening and assessment of referrals.
• Identify and assess risks, needs and safeguarding concerns for children and families.
• Signpost and refer families to appropriate services and support networks.
• Prepare and present cases at Threshold Meetings and provide guidance to families and professionals.
