Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the South Cambridgeshire Assessment Team. You will lead statutory assessments, chair strategy discussions and produce reports for court, while supporting less experienced staff.

You will manage a complex caseload with a strong child-centred approach, work across care proceedings and SWET, and travel across the county as required. Hybr id working is available with potential relocation within the county.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Significant experience in statutory children’s services.
• Familiarity with SWET and its application in care proceedings.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a child-centred approach.
• Able to travel across the county independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead statutory assessments, strategy discussions, Section 47 enquiries and produce high-quality court reports (Sections 7, 37, 31).
• Manage a complex caseload and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Support recruitment, induction and supervision of new staff.
• Plan, allocate and review children’s cases with the Team Manager.
