Job summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Child Protection / Child in Need Team in Birmingham.

Location: One Avenue Road, Aston. Pay rate is £30.57 per hour (Umbrella). Office-based 2 days per week; hybrid working model applies.

Qualifications

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of Child Protection and Child in Need cases, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments and identify risks, needs and appropriate interventions.
• Develop, implement and review effective Child Protection and Child in Need plans.
• Work collaboratively with children, families and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure children's wishes, feelings, safety and welfare remain central to all decisions and interventions.
• Prepare and present high-quality reports for child protection conferences, reviews, court proceedings and other professional meetings.
• Maintain accurate, timely and evidence-based case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
• Monitor risks and case progression, taking appropriate action and escalating concerns where required.
• Participate in supervision, reflective practice and team meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of social work practice.

Essential Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
• At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
• Social Work England Registration
• Driving license and access to own vehicle
