Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker within the MASH Team to work full time based in Surrey.

The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker role is up to £47,619 per annum.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a complex caseload involving individuals, children, carers, and families requiring support and guidance.
2. Make confident and effective judgments about risk and accountability, maintaining engagement in fluctuating circumstances, including hostility and risk.
3. Apply assessment procedures appropriately to respond to presenting needs, ensuring proportionate assessments that enable maximum participation.
4. Employ professional judgment and a range of interventions to promote independence, provide support and protection, take preventative action, and ensure safety while balancing rights and risks.
5. Lead positive interventions to prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing and safeguard at-risk individuals.
6. Conduct assessments and planning for safeguarding in complex cases and support colleagues using safeguarding skills in line with policies.
7. Contribute to practice development, promote a learning culture, and mentor less experienced staff.
8. Deliver professional reflective supervision and advise less experienced staff on casework.
9. Serve as a practice educator or train for this role, and act as an ASYE assessor and supervisor for newly qualified social workers.
10. Support personal and professional development during supervision and appraisal.
11. Share professional knowledge with colleagues and partners.
12. Ensure clear recording of analyses and judgments, maintaining up-to-date case records per Surrey County Council policies.
13. Work within data protection policies.

Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
• Understanding of relevant legislation.
• Registered with Social Work England.
