Job description

Job Opportunity: Social Workers / Senior Social Workers

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Position: Full Time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full-time, permanent social workers or senior social workers to join the Through Care Service.

Note: You require a social work qualification to apply for this role.

About the Through Care Service

The service supports children and young people aged 0-25 and their families, throughout their journey in care and as care leavers. It comprises two services: a post-16 service supporting children entering care at 16-17, unaccompanied children, and care leavers; and a service for children in care up to 18. The team includes a manager, up to six social workers, two family support workers, and an administrator.

Work Environment & Achievements

Based at B Bond in an open-plan office overlooking the river and Ashton Court, we are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children. Our last Ofsted inspection rated us 'GOOD' for both children in care and care leaver services.

Role Responsibilities
  • Work with approximately 18 children using a co-productive approach involving children, families, and professionals.
  • Maintain up-to-date records to help children understand their care journey.
  • Ensure children have supportive networks and develop care and pathway plans that are aspirational and timely.
  • Work with children in foster homes (including kinship), children's homes, and semi-independent accommodations.
  • Respond to reactive, fast-paced situations using trauma-informed and creative approaches.
  • Support multi-agency networks, chair meetings, challenge constructively, and work independently.
Development & Practice

We support career progression and encourage involvement in projects. Our practice is underpinned by signs of safety, systemic, and reflective approaches.

Our Philosophy

We recognize the child's whole network in building security and safety, supporting and maintaining this network with a view to reunification when safe. We are creative and committed to meeting individual needs.

Quotes & Culture

'You cannot underestimate how important you [social worker] are to a child in care and the difference you can really make.'

'It is an absolute privilege to be involved in the life of a child in care.'

Additional Information

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
