Martin Veasey Talent Solutions is recruiting a Senior Credit Underwriter for a growth-focused SME lender in the East Midlands. You will underwrite complex applications, assess financial data and risk indicators, and manage end-to-end submissions with clear, independent judgement.

Ideal candidates will have strong SME/commercial credit experience, a background in asset finance or fintech lending, and a track record of working under delegated sanctioning authority.

Formación

• Proven experience in SME lending, commercial credit or equivalent fintech lending environments.
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret financial accounts and risk data.
• Experience operating with meaningful delegated sanctioning authority.
• Ability to make independent credit decisions under time pressure.
• Understanding of how lending decisions influence portfolio performance.

Responsabilidades

• Assess and underwrite complex SME and commercial lending applications with full decisioning authority within delegated limits.
• Evaluate financial statements, credit bureau data, management accounts and risk indicators to form independent lending views.
• Manage broker-introduced and own-book applications from submission through decision and documentation.
• Mentor and support junior underwriters and contribute to policy development and process improvement.
• Collaborate with senior credit, sales and operations to ensure high-quality lending outcomes.
