Job summary

Metro Bank is seeking a senior leader to head the SMB credit risk function, shaping the strategy and automated decisioning framework as the bank grows. You will drive risk appetite, policies and analytics to enable scalable lending with responsible credit outcomes.

You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate across Commercial, Product and Distribution, and engage regulators and external partners to ensure robust risk governance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading credit risk strategy and risk management across the customer lifecycle.
• Expertise in credit decisioning, scorecards and affordability models.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and governance.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience with data, analytics and AI-assisted decisioning.
• Ability to influence at Executive Committee level.
• Track record of delivering growth with sound risk management.

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of small business lending by leading risk strategy and decisioning transformations.
• Set automated lending strategy and risk appetite for SMBs.
• Oversee credit performance across acquisition, management, collections and recoveries.
• Lead the transformation of credit decisioning with new systems and data capabilities.
• Develop policies, scorecards and risk frameworks across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Product and Distribution to balance growth and risk.
• Provide inspirational leadership to build a market-leading credit risk function.
• Represent the Bank at senior forums and with regulators and partners.
