Job summary

The Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Speech & Language Therapist to assess and treat communication and swallowing difficulties in older adult inpatients. The post holder will manage an autonomous caseload, supervise SLTs and support the wider MDT.

As a senior SLT, you will be part of the leadership team and drive service development, with emphasis on dementia and complex needs. Significant leadership and collaboration experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Registration with HCPC as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Evidence of post-registration Masters level learning or equivalent experience.
• Experience in leadership, service delivery and quality improvement is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat communication and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties in older adults.
• Carry an autonomous caseload and supervise SLT colleagues.
• Support practice learning within the MDT and mentor junior staff.
• Lead service development and contribute to the leadership team.
