Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Speech and Language Therapist for a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract. The role sits in the assessment and diagnostic MDT for children and young people aged 0-18 with suspected autism spectrum disorders.

You will contribute to assessments, communicate diagnoses with the MDT, and support service development in a cohesive team setting.

Qualifications

• Essential: Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
• Essential: Completion of RCSLT newly qualified practitioner competencies.
• Essential: Current registration with Health Professions Council.
• Essential: Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose paediatric clients presenting with neuro-developmental concerns.
• Contribute to formulation and communication of diagnosis with MDT support.
• Engage with families, carers and professionals to support assessments.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and governance.
• Utilise audit, policy and service development skills.
• Support clinical lead in planning, development and evaluation of services.
