Leaders in Care is seeking an Adult Autism Speech & Language Therapist to join an integrated service in the West Midlands. The role focuses on diagnosing and understanding autism in adults, with your SLT expertise informing MDT discussions and recommendations.

The post offers hybrid working for non-diagnostic tasks, a blend of assessment, reporting, and governance, and opportunities to support junior clinicians and pathway development.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist with significant post-qualification adult experience.
• Ability to assess communication and social interaction differences in adults.
• Adult autism pathway experience desirable not essential.

Adult Autism Speech & Language Therapist £40,000£50,000 | West Midlands | Hybrid | Full-time or part-time

If you want your SLT expertise to play a genuine part in autism diagnosis, rather than sit around the edges of the pathway, this role is worth considering.

You will join a multidisciplinary adult autism service where speech, language, communication and social interaction are treated as core parts of diagnostic understanding. Your clinical reasoning will feed directly into MDT discussion, formulation and recommendations for the person being assessed.

The service works across psychology, nursing, OT, SLT and senior medical colleagues, with clear clinical oversight and governance. Core diagnostic assessments are face-to-face, with hybrid working available for suitable non-diagnostic elements.

You will need HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist, alongside significant post-qualification adult experience and confidence assessing communication and social interaction differences. Adult autism pathway experience is desirable rather than essential.
