Job summary

St. George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a healthcare scientist specialising in sleep diagnostics and respiratory physiology.

The role covers specialist investigations for sleep-related and non-sleep breathing disorders in adults, CPAP therapy support, and reporting lung function tests. You will train junior staff, develop protocols with the Respiratory Physiology team, supervise data management and equipment, and contribute to audits and research.

Qualifications

• Healthcare Science degree or degree in a Biological subject with ARTP Part 1 and Part 2, or equivalent.
• Experience as a Band 6 in Sleep and Lung Function Services.
• Continuing Evidence of CPD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sleep diagnostics including oximetry, CPAP therapy support, and lung function testing.
• Provide clinical and scientific advice to patients and carers about test results and treatment options.
• Supervise and train junior staff; act as work-based assessor within SHA training schemes or similar.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, infection control and stock management for sleep and lung function equipment.
• Contribute to research studies and departmental audits; manage data systems within the IG framework.
