Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd seeks a Senior Site Manager in Plymouth to lead a major external refurbishment programme. This long-term contract role focuses on facade installation and cladding remediation, with day rates of £270-£280.

You will be responsible for delivering the project safely, within budget, and to schedule, coordinating client liaising and site meetings. Candidates should have strong experience in external works (EWI, Glazing, Cladding) and a solid track record with principal contractor

• Proven track record in delivering projects on time, on budget, and safely.
• SMSTS, CSCS, First aid at work with Scaffold awareness a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run site meetings, briefings and liaise with client representatives.
• Ensure health and safety plans (RAMS) are implemented and maintained.
• Review alarms, temporary structures and drawings; monitor programme and cost variations.
• Manage logistics, staffing and supply chain on site.

Job description

Senior Site Managers are sought in Plymouth to lead a significant external refurbishment programme, commencing this Autumn. This temporary contract, paying £270-£280 per day, involves overseeing facade installation and cladding remediation works for a specialist contractor. You will hold daily responsibility for delivering the project safely, on budget, and to schedule.

Key duties include conducting briefings, liaising with client representatives, and organising site meetings to ensure seamless communication. This long-term role is ideal for professionals with a proven track record in facades who are ready to shape Plymouth's evolving landscape.

There are a a number of key responsibilities including:

• Communication - conducting and organising meetings and briefings, liaising with client consultants, supply chain and senior management
• Health and Safety - inductions, checks and site surveys, reviewing the RAMS, compiling H and S packs
• Inspections - reviewing alarms, temporary structures and other aspects of the project under change
• Administration - ensuring site logs and diaries are updated, conducting drawing reviews, updating the programme and co-ordinating variations
• Management - of logistics, staff and supply chain

You should have a demonstrable work history reflecting previous experience of external works (EWI, Glazing, Cladding, Rainscreen) nd building remediation works, be used to working within a principal contractor capacity and have a sound and thorough understanding of building control and structural warranty standards.

Proficient in MS Project and MS applications, and fluent in JCT Contracts, and, as this is a fully site based role, you should also have SMSTS, CSCS, First aid at work with Scaffold awareness/PASMA being advantageous.
