Job summary

ARC Group is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale residential housing phases in the Colchester area. You will oversee day-to-day on-site activities from groundwork through to completion, ensuring safety, budget adherence and high-quality standards.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in residential site management, with a track record of delivering 100+ unit developments and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager within the residential housebuilding sector.
• Track record of delivering volume housing developments.
• Experience managing developments or phases of 100+ units.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities and subcontractors.
• Drive programme performance to meet build targets and completions.
• Maintain high health and safety standards across site.
• Ensure quality control and NHBC compliance.
• Coordinate site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Manage site logistics and resources to maximise productivity.
• Conduct progress meetings and report to senior management.
• Deliver a high-quality product exceeding customer expectations.
• Support and develop Assistant Site Managers and other site personnel.

Are you an experienced Senior Site Manager looking to join one of the UK's leading residential developers?

We are working exclusively with a highly regarded national housebuilding PLC that has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential developments across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong land pipeline, they are seeking an ambitious Site Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale housing phases in the Colchester area.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of developments ranging from approximately 130 to 250 units, working for a business that invests heavily in its people and offers genuine opportunities for career progression.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of residential construction phases from groundwork through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Managing all on-site construction activities and subcontractors

• Maintaining exceptional health and safety standards across site
• Ensuring quality control and compliance with NHBC requirements
• Coordinating site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors effectively

• Conducting regular progress meetings and reporting to senior management
• Delivering a high-quality product that exceeds customer expectations
• Supporting and developing Assistant Site Managers and other site personnel

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager within the residential housebuilding sector
• A track record of delivering volume housing developments for a recognised housebuilder
• Experience managing developments or phases of 100+ units
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities
• A proactive approach with a focus on quality, safety, and programme delivery
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
• NHBC experience and knowledge of current building regulations
