Senior Site Manager - Structural Cut & Carve

Salary: 75,000 to 85,000 depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Site Manager to join growing London based Main Contractor. You will be part of a team leading a high-profile cut and carve structural alteration project in London. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex refurbishment environments and has a proven track record delivering technically challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day site operations on structural cut and carve schemes, including partial demolitions, structural alterations, temporary works, and rebuilds.
- Manage all site activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of health & safety and quality.
- Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers, and consultants to ensure seamless execution of work packages.
- Oversee logistics planning and sequencing in logistically complex environments
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, and Design Team to monitor programme progress and resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct regular progress meetings, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
- Mentor and support junior site staff to ensure continued professional development.
- Minimum 5-10 years of site management experience, with at least 3+ years focused on structural cut and carve / heavy refurb projects in central London.
- Proven ability to manage complex inner-city construction sites, preferably involving listed buildings or sensitive structural interventions.
- Strong knowledge of temporary works, demolition, steelwork, RC works, underpinning, propping and fa ade retention.
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold Card) and First Aid certifications.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate works accordingly.
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations and HSE best practices.
Desirable:
- Engineering or construction-related degree or equivalent.
- Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors on refurbishments in London.
- Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
